We collect minimal information to provide our services. When you register a nickname with NickServ, we store your registered username, associated email address, and registration timestamps. We may also temporarily store IP addresses for security purposes. We do not permanently store chat logs.

No. We do not share IP addresses with third parties. IP addresses are only used for network security purposes, such as managing bans and preventing abuse. We only release user data when compelled by a valid subpoena, search warrant, or court order from a court with proper jurisdiction.

Our network is managed by a dedicated team of administrators, IRC operators, and channel operators who work around the clock. If no one is available in #help, you can submit a ticket through our Help Desk and we will respond within 24 hours.

Bans are typically issued for violations of our Acceptable Use Policy, such as harassment, spam, disruptive behavior, or ban jumping. When you are banned, a ban reason appears in your status window. If you believe the ban was issued in error, please visit #help or submit a ticket through our Help Desk for review.

Kicks and mutes are typically issued by Channel Operators (ChanOps) for violations of channel-specific rules, such as spamming, using inappropriate language, or disruptive behavior. If you were kicked or muted, you can ask the ChanOp for clarification. If you believe it was unfair, you may discuss it in #help.

ICQ Chat Network runs security scanners to maintain safety and prevent abuse. However, not all VPNs are blocked—only those that are known to be used for abusive purposes. If you are unable to connect due to a VPN, please try connecting without the VPN or contact our Help Desk for assistance.
