The Help Desk is our primary support system, operated by Admins and BotOps only. It is designed for more serious or complex issues that require administrative attention.

When to Use the Help Desk

  • Network Information: Questions about how to set up a room and other network-related queries.
  • Server Issues: G-Lines, Z-Lines, Shuns, and other server-level bans.
  • Applications: Applying for ChanOps (Channel Operator) positions or avatars.
  • Admin-only Matters: Any issue that only an Admin can resolve.

How to Submit a Ticket

Visit our Help Desk and open a ticket with your query or complaint.

  • Every support request is assigned a unique ticket number which you can use to track progress and responses online.
  • Response Time: Normal response times are within 24 hours, but it is usually sooner.

📌 Note: ChanOps and BotOps do NOT have access to G-Line or Z-Line information. Only Admins can provide such information. If you need help with a G-Line or Z-Line, the Help Desk is the right place to go.

The #Help channel on the network is used for general enquiries and is operated by Admins, BotOps, and ChanOps (Room Moderators).

When to Use #Help

  • Room Ban Queries: If you have a question about a room ban that was set on you, you can go to the #Help room to ask for an explanation from the ChanOp, BotOp, or Admin that set it.
  • Complaints About Users: You may use the #Help room to make a complaint about another user or troll.
  • Room Issues: Notify a ChanOp of any room issues or general enquiries.
  • General Questions: If you have a general question about the network or need assistance.

How to Join #Help

Simply type /join #help in your IRC client or click the #Help channel from the channel list.

📌 Important Notes:

  • ChanOps are not allowed to discuss another chatter's ban, even if the chatter has asked someone else to ask for them.
  • Arguing in the main channel about somebody else's ban will result in you being removed.
  • ChanOps and BotOps are there to help and not to be abused because you disagree with a decision.

If you have a complaint, here is the proper procedure to follow:

Step 1: Visit #Help

In the first instance, visit the #help channel on the network. There is almost always an active op, BotOp, or Admin available to assist you.

Step 2: Submit a Ticket

Contact the Help Desk. Simply open a ticket and we will reply to you within 24 hours.

Step 3: Complaints About Moderators

If your complaint is regarding a Moderator (ChanOp), you should try to contact either:

  • Chanops Lead – Person responsible for the Chanops Team
  • Chanops Lead Back up

You MUST ensure you have logs to back up your complaint. We know how to spot fake logs, so please ensure they are genuine.

If there is no Admin active, your next stop is the Help Desk (with logs attached), and the Admin team will investigate and take action as required.

We take all complaints seriously. Our team investigates every report thoroughly and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for everyone.

🔒 I'm Banned – What Do I Do?

  • Channel Ban: If you are banned from a channel but still connected to the network, type /join #help to enter our #Help room and ask for clarification.
  • Network Ban (G-Line/Z-Line): Go to the Help Desk and open a ticket. Only Admins can assist with G-Lines and Z-Lines.
  • Ban Jumping: If you are banned and repeatedly try to reconnect, you may be banned from the entire network.

  • Connection Issues: Make sure you are connecting to irc.icqchatting.com on ports 6660-6669 (standard) or +6697 (SSL).
  • Registration Issues: If you're having trouble registering your nickname, visit #Help or the Help Desk.
  • Bot Issues: Review our Bot Policy for rules and guidelines.

🔐 Privacy & Security

  • We take your privacy seriously. We do not share your IP address with third parties.
  • We only release user data when compelled by a valid subpoena, search warrant, or court order.
